Today is Wednesday, the day I have set aside to do something fun with my kids. Last week we went to the free movie at our local theatre, and bought a large popcorn with a free refill.
This week I think we will do that agin, and maybe go to a free small beach nearby. I am really looking forward to it.
I love being out with my kids, and I really enjoy seeing movies made for kids- a good excuse for me to go is to take them.
The Book/Bible study I did today was about doing things we enjoyed as childen, and hearing God speak to us through those things.
Sometimes life can get so loud that we don’t listen to the simple small voice that calls us to greater intimacy with the Father.
Very similar to our kids getting so caught up in TV, or video games- that they don’t hear us when we softly call to them to come and join us.
Spending time with my kids enables me to pay attention to the things that I sometimes don’t give my full attention to.
Things like- looking at the cloud formations; listening to airplanes and birds overhead; noticing the baby geese have grown; walking barefoot through the sand, and letting the little waves from the lake wash over my feet.
God will speak to me through these things, if I listen with an open heart.
Today will be full of fun for us.
I hope you have a fun day too.
